see, the thing about blogging is you have to do it regularly- if you don't you'll have like more than a month to catch up.

alive and still kicking. lotsa stuff happened for the past month and it's impossible to retrace and put everything here. but to sum everything up:

- i got a job
- it's spring now in wellington
- i've got a month to my finals
- i'm scared shitless of wats gonna happen after a month
- i've got a thousand ideas in my head but haven't make time for any of it

but it's all good, i figured that working and studying is the best way for me. keeps me on my toes.

hope everyone's doing good as well.

this week was indeed the most insane week of the whole of 2006. i had two term tests, one asgn, two jobs, a camp, crazy sleeping times, odd timing meals, way-too-much coffee. but i'm not here to ramble about it, but to say i'm glad i pulled thru.

the weather has been the most amazing in wellington. we had sunny days in winter. perfect for ice cream and harbour-strolling. showing signs that spring is around the corner.

last weekend marked my 6 months stay in wellington. it felt like it was just yesterday i was having packed satay kajang in PD, eating desa aman's laksa, going swimming every wed, yamcha at alim, not to mention disneybank, having hot pot at 7th heaven, visits to uncle lim.

but sometimes it felt like forever. i have learnt so much in this 6 months and to retrace back how the old jason seems like an impossible task. i'm not saying i have changed, just that i have been given a chance to be exposed to all the beautiful things life has to offer.

i'm glad life is only gonna get more exciting.

it's 1.30 am and i've got heaps of work waiting to be done but wat am i doing? i'm succumbing myself to the most emo song (yet) while downloading a total of 2.1gb of movies.

why stay up to emo you ask? i have no idea. i think many can relate to me when i say we listen to emo songs when we are emo-ing. when we know we are supposed to listen to more uplifting songs.

but having said that i think this is one of the best crafted song- where both the vocals bringing the lyrics flowed so well with the sound of the melody.

bonded by blood

recently the all blacks has released a new poster campaign. the adidas limited edition "bonded by blood" posters are made of real sample of blood by each of the all black.

yup it's true. each of them gave blood which was then sterilised to create the posters.

and tonight i had a chance to see them live. live as in at the stadium. you have no idea- ppl are flying in from everywhere in the country to wellington for the game.

why are new zealanders so fanatical over rugby you ask? i wasn't sure before but after tonight, i knew the reason why.

the all blacks had a tradition that had followed for ages. as some of you might recall my experience with the maori war dance, the haka. the all blacks has been performing the haka everytime before the match.

the whole stadium came to a stand still when they did the haka. it shows how much the kiwis take pride in it.

this is the haka dance they do everytime before a match. the man you'll see doing the shouting is tana umaga, last season's captain. he's kinda like our national hero just like zidane to france. this was taken last year in NZ when they went against australian's Wallabies.

if you ain't got a clue why they did what they did, you'll think they looked like a bunch of idiots. but i challenge you today, to see beyond the shouting, beyond the action. i believe it is the act of declaring the victory both verbally and physically.

i admire the passion. it is not only words, i felt the whole team speaking in one voice, in unison.

there's power in words. believe in it and declare it- it will be done.

p/s: the all blacks was against favorites, Springboks from south africa. but the all blacks proves to be head and shoulders above them. final score: 35-17.

why the new zealanders are so fanatical about rugby you ask? the answer is obvious- they kick ass.big time.

hello everyone. yes i'm still alive. the past week has been one of the hardest one. but i'm glad God pulled me through.

last week the whole of wellington was put through a car wash- it rained for a week.

i was reading a random blog and i found this interesting bit,

"You are a completely different person every 7 years."

i'm not sure how true the statement is but it did made me think. it went on to say that scientifically all our body cells split causing the old ones to die and stuff, so every seven
years, we are actually made of new material.

i have lived in a small town up north in Malaysia for the first 10 years of my life. and coincidently lived my previous 10 years in KL. does that shows an unintentional trend i should follow? as much as i think i should take changes slowly, i think it is coming faster and expecting me to adjust more rapidly.

sometimes i do feel like i'm taking a leap- from a familiar ground to another. the issue is, i'm still on air, i can't seem to reach the ground on the end. man, the feeling is no fun at all- swarmed with thoughts of uncertainties- will i make it?

anyway, i'm sure many would relate with me- it's probably the necessary process of adulthood.

and if anyone of u reading this blog feels the same way, that makes the two of us.

the weather does play a huge part in a person's mood.

the sun didn't come out today-again. the weather is changing rapidly, u can be so cold in the rain in the morning but couple of hours later, it's so sunny you wanna eat ice cream.

so it kinda suck sometimes you get ready in the morning to class with layers of jacket and scarves just to find it is so hot later in the noon.

or the other way around, you wear a t-shirt because you think it's gonna be a warm sunny day and later found yourself trapped in the building cos it's freezing and raining outside.

man, this is wellington.

but anyway, congratulations to wengkeet for successfully graduated, and jaesy and ewern being semi-grad (click to find out why).

and for the rest of us, have good time studying and all the best for exams.

Jenny Banks- excellent violin player

i had my first taste on wtgn ochestra in last week. it was simply amazing.

Church of St. Andrews- first presbyterian church in NZ

i kept imagining movie scenes one after another. i have a lovey-dovey scene at one time and a fighting scene the next. there's no wonder symphony music is always preffered in movie making. it brings your mood from one end to the other in a zap.

being musically inclined me, i was trying to understand the music but later i found myself falling asleep instead. which i almost did.

but overall i was blown away by the performance. i was left speechless with the whole 40 people band-music sheets-conductor coordination. really wat i heard was - one sound.
jenny banks was just superb.

it has been a really cold week in wellington. we had only 10 minutes of sunshine last sunday. on a sunday!

it was a long walk and it wasn’t one of the warmer days. but pools of people kept marching to the front all dressed in yellow and black. they looked like swarms of bees buzzing to a single beehive. the energy is felt everywhere but focused on a single point.

it is the semi-finals of the super 14 rugby- wellington's Hurricanes against Sydney's Waratahs.

it was really cool how the set-up was. they had coldplay's Yellow playing as the dashed in to the field, everyone in the stadium rose to their feet and cheered their lungs out-literally.

they even had pyro and fireworks when the canes appear to the field. talk about home ground advantage.

the crowd gave the waratahs a good 'welcome' as well- the whole practically boo-ed, not only when they appear, but everytime they had the ball. Man, i can't imagine being in the waratahs in that game. low morale to the max.

super 14 is considerably one of the most prestigious rugby league and hurricanes (the canes) seems to be one of the favorites this year.

the atmosphere was electric, fanatic, eccentric, bombastic, magnetic, fantastic, panasonic, titanic, automatic.

the cheerleaders were a real distraction to the game

it has been quite a while since the canes got into the finals, but judging from the 1st game i've watched so far, i can tell the level of competition is at the red-line. each players played their heart out- big time.

it's really cool everytime when the canes scored, the whole stadium jumped onto their feet at roared as they had the theme song playing while the cheerleaders dancing to it.

but after awhile we sorta hoped for the canes to score. they dance everytime the canes scored.

i'm on national TV! hey mum!

between breaks they had the camera zoom-in to the crowd. and of cos the crowd did wat they do best- cheer!

plus they had this "give us a kiss" kinda thing which i think it was pretty sweet. they zoomed into a couple and the announcer will ask them to give a kiss to the crowd, on national tv.

although my knowledge of rugby is near zero, and my only attempt to rugby was ages ago back in high school, it was enjoyable. it was a lot of fun watching the players get rough (one of them even sees blood on the face), hearing the crowd roaring in anticipation.

final score: hurricanes 16 - waratahs 14

It wasn't exactly the best 50 dollars I’ve spent but hey, we’re in Wellington, and the home team is playing the semis, we don’t need a reason to watch the game.
